A TV menu is one board for one screen. You build it in the TV studio from your sections, add your logo and anything else on top, and show it on a TV with its 6-digit display code.

Taster includes 2 TV menus. Brewhouse and Reserve have no limit. Archived menus don't count.

Make a TV menu

Start from a template, or blank

Open TV Menus and click New Menu. Pick a design under Official or My templates, give the menu a name and click Create. See Templates and themes.

To start empty, click Start blank, then set Name, Aspect ratio and Rotation and click Create.

Add your sections

The studio opens. In the Layout rail on the left, click Add section and pick one. Drag sections to change their order. The trash icon takes a section off this menu; the section itself stays.

Put it on a TV

Click Open display to see the live board in a browser tab, then enter the menu's code on the TV. See Display codes.

The studio needs a computer or a tablet in landscape. On a phone it says Editing requires a larger screen and offers Open TV display instead.

Find your way around the studio

AreaWhat it's for
Top barName, screen shape, rotation, align tools, Templates, Save as template, undo and redo, the save state, and Open display.
Layout rail (left)Screen design, your sections, and Overlays.
Canvas (middle)The board at its real proportions. Click anything to select it.
Inspector (right)Every setting for what you selected.

Every change saves on its own. The top bar shows Saving, then Saved. Undo is ⌘Z and redo is ⇧⌘Z.

Add a logo, text or a QR code

Overlays sit on top of the sections. Click Add overlay at the bottom of the rail:

  • Text, Image, QR code (one from QR codes), Icon
  • Rectangle, Shape, Line, Curve, Draw
  • Live logs: the latest PintDeck Taste logs. See Live logs.

Drag an overlay on the canvas to move it. In the rail, overlays higher in the list sit on top; drag to restack, or hover for duplicate and delete. Shift-click overlays in the rail to select several, then use the align buttons in the top bar.

Select an overlay and the inspector shows Animation: Enter, Active (loops while on screen) and Exit. Animations play on the TV, not on the canvas.

Style what you select

The inspector changes with your selection.

SelectWhat you can change
Screen designPage (Background, Background image, Page padding, gaps), Typography, Section header, Item cards, Section box, Media, Status Effects. This is the whole board.
A sectionThe same groups for that section, plus Spacing and Item layout: which details each beer shows and where.
A beer or itemType, card and media for that one entry, and its own Item layout.

A section or beer with its own settings shows how many overrides it has, with Reset all to go back to the board's style.

A background image can come from Upload or Library. Reserve also has Generate with AI, up to 50 images a month.

Lists are shared, looks are not

What's in a section is set on the Sections tab, and every menu using it follows. How a section looks in the studio applies to this menu only.

Show sold-out and coming-soon beers

Under Status Effects, turn on an effect for any status other than Available: Coming Soon, Limited, Seasonal, Temporarily Out, Sold Out or Archived. Each can lower Card Opacity, add Grayscale or Strikethrough, and Show Badge with your own Badge Text and position. Pick a status under Test Effect to preview it on the canvas.

Effects apply to beers that are already on the menu. A section can Customize its own effect or Inherit the board's.

Match the screen

Pick Horizontal (16:9) for a TV mounted the usual way, or Vertical (9:16) for a portrait screen. Use Rotation (90°, 180°, 270°) when the TV itself is turned. Changing the shape keeps your overlays in the same places relative to the screen.

Manage your menus

TV Menus lists your Active and Archived menus. The Plays on column shows the playlists each menu is in, and on now when a TV has shown it in the last few minutes. Click a menu to see what's on it and where it plays.

From the actions button at the end of a menu's row:

  • Duplicate makes a copy, with its own code.
  • Archive takes it off every playlist and frees its code. Restore brings it back with a new code, and it counts toward your plan's limit again.
  • Delete removes it for good.
