Sections

The named lists of beers or items that every TV menu, print menu and web embed is built from.

A section is a named list, like "On Tap", "Seasonals" or "Food". Each one holds either beers or other items (food, NA drinks, merch). Every TV menu, print menu and web embed is built from sections, so you keep a list in one place and every menu that uses it changes with it.

Make a section

Name it

Open Sections and click New section. The Section name is the header people see on the menu.

Pick what it holds

Set Section type to Beer or Alternative items. You can't change this once the section is created.

Pick how it fills

Set Selection mode:

  • Manual selection: you pick each beer and set the order.
  • Automatic filter: rules decide what's in it, and it updates itself as your beers change.

Finish

Turn off Show section header if you don't want the name printed above the list, then click Create section.

Pick beers by hand

With Manual selection, search under Select beers and click + to add each one. Drag the rows to set the order. Sort by reorders the list once (for example Tap Number (A→Z)); you can still drag afterward.

Let rules fill it

With Automatic filter, click Add rule and choose a field, a test and a value. A beer has to match every rule to be in the section. With no rules, every beer is in it.

Sections of other items filter on Availability Status, Featured, Name, Description, Category, Price, Price Label and Created At.

Two more controls sit under the rules:

  • Sort by (optional): a field and Ascending or Descending, applied every time the list changes.
  • Exclude specific beers (optional): leave out a beer the rules would otherwise pick.

Matched items on the right shows what the section holds right now.

Sold-out beers don't leave on their own

A section shows exactly what you picked or what its rules match. To drop sold-out beers, add the rule Availability Status is none of Sold Out. To keep them on but grayed out or crossed off, use status effects in the TV studio.

What a section controls, and what it doesn't

A section decides what is on the list. How it looks is set per menu: in a studio, select the section and change its header, type, cards and which details each beer shows. That styling applies to that menu only, so the same "On Tap" section can be big on the TV and compact on the printed sheet.

See where a section is used

Click a section in the list to open it. You see whether it picks by hand or by rule, how many beers are in it now, and Used by: every TV, print and web menu that includes it.
