Fire TV devices
Which Fire TV Sticks run the PintDeck app, which don't, and how to install it.
The PintDeck app for Fire TV is free on the Amazon Appstore. It's built for Fire TV devices on Fire OS: most Fire TV Sticks, every Fire TV Cube and most TVs with Fire TV built in. Amazon's newest sticks run Vega OS instead. PintDeck runs on those too, but we don't recommend them for a menu that stays on all day.
Install the app
On the Fire TV's home screen, open Find, then Search.
Type PintDeck, or say it into the Alexa Voice Remote, and choose the PintDeck app.
Select Get (some Fire TVs say Download). The app is free.
Open it, type your 6-digit display code and choose Load Menu.
Recommended
Tested by us, and the best pick for a menu that stays on all day.

Buying a stick for your menu?
Get the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2nd gen), the one we test on. Amazon's newer sticks run Vega OS.
Should work
These run Fire OS like our test stick, and the Appstore offers PintDeck on all of them. We haven't tested each one yet.
| Device | Released | Fire OS |

| Fire TV Stick 4K Plus | 2025 | 8 |

| Fire TV Cube (1st gen) | 2018 | 6 |
| Fire TV (3rd gen) | 2017 | 6 |
The ones on Fire OS 6 need their latest software update to show your menu: on the Fire TV, open Settings, My Fire TV, About, then Check for Updates.
Works, but not for an all-day menu
These sticks run Amazon's Vega OS. PintDeck has a Vega app, installed the same way, but Vega doesn't reliably keep the screen awake, so the stick can fall asleep and take your menu with it. It's fine for trying PintDeck out; for a menu that runs all day, use one of the Fire OS devices above.
| Device | Released | Vega OS |
|---|---|---|
| Fire TV Stick 4K (3rd gen) | 2026 | 2.0 |
| Fire TV Stick HD (2026) | 2026 | 1.1 |
| Fire TV Stick 4K Select | 2025 | 1.1 |
Two sticks are called Fire TV Stick HD. The 2024 one runs Fire OS; the 2026 one runs Vega OS. The 2026 one has rounded corners and "Fire TV" printed on the stick.
Doesn't work
These run Fire OS 5, which is too old for the app, and they can't be updated. The Appstore won't offer PintDeck on them.

Check which one you have
On the Fire TV, open Settings, then My Fire TV (called Device on some older models), then About, and look at Software Version:
- Fire OS 6, 7, 8 or 14: runs PintDeck. On Fire OS 6, install the latest update first.
- OS 1 or OS 2, with no "Fire" in front: a stick on Amazon's Vega OS. PintDeck runs, but not reliably all day.
- Fire OS 5: too old for the app.
No Fire TV?
Any screen with a web browser can show a board too, like a smart TV's own browser or a computer plugged into the TV. In the TV studio, click Open display, then open that same link on the screen.
