Create an event

Set up a Taste event, choose who can come and what counts as being there, and change it later.

Customers › Taste › EventsBrewhouse and ReserveAlso on iPhoneRolling out

Owners and admins create Taste events. The form asks what the event is, when it happens, and then Taste's questions: who can come, how many spots there are, and how people prove they were there.

Create one

Open the form

Click New event on the Events tab. The calendar's Add › Event opens the same form; it starts with On Taste on when your brewery is claimed and you're an owner or admin. On iPhone, tap + on Taste events, or + on the Calendar tab and choose A Taste event.

Name it and pick how often

Repeats runs Every week, Every 2 weeks, Every 4 weeks or Monthly. Pick the weekdays (for Monthly, one weekday and which one, First through Last), then Starting, Doors and Hours. Dates are written three months ahead and kept topped up.

Once, Several days and A set of dates take each date with its From and To time. Add a day or Add a date adds another. A date can't run longer than a day, and an end time earlier than the start runs past midnight.

Times are your taproom's clock, wherever you're making the event from.

Say where and what kind

Where is free text, like Taproom. Kind is what members can filter on when they look for something to do: Trivia, Live music, Release, Food truck, Tasting, Run club, Market, Family, Games, Comedy, Festival, Class or Other.

Name the beers, if it's about a beer

Turn on Beer release and pick the beers under Pouring. Each beer's page lists the event, and Today says what's pouring.

Say what happens

About is for the details: what happens, what to bring.

Pick who can come

Under Who can come, choose Anyone, RSVP, free, Paid tickets or By invitation. For RSVP and paid tickets, set the Spots, and for paid tickets the Price, $. Waitlist when full starts on: a seat given back goes to the first person waiting.

Say what counts as being there

For anything but Anyone, pick the Proof they were there:

  • Door scan, or the check-in area: staff scan tickets at the door, and a ticket holder standing inside your check-in area counts too.
  • Door scan only: only a scanned ticket counts.

Check what members collect, and create it

What members collect says what this mix of choices gives, like A wristband with a tab for every day. Click Create event.

What counts as being there

At an event open to Anyone, members check in on Taste while they're inside your check-in area during the hours. A beer they log there in that time counts too, so a regular who logs a pint never has to check in separately.

At an event with a list, a scanned ticket always counts, and so does admitting someone by hand from the guest list. See At the door.

One date, or one pass

For Repeats and Once, each date has its own spots, and a seat is for one date. For Several days and A set of dates, one reservation is a pass that covers every date, so Spots is how many passes there are.

Change an event

Open the event and click Edit. Everything can change except How often, which is set once the event exists.

  • A repeating event: change the rule and the dates ahead are rewritten to match. A future date the new rule no longer makes is dropped, unless someone holds a seat for it or already came. Past dates, and what members collected on them, stay as they were.
  • Any other event: dates added here join the ones already there. To drop a date, cancel it from the Dates tab. See Cancel a date.

Put a team event on Taste

An event already on the team calendar can move onto Taste with its tasks and beers. See Add an event.
