Cancel a date or take it off Taste

Cancel one date of an event, what happens to paid seats when you do, and take a whole event off Taste.

Customers › Taste › EventsBrewhouse and ReserveAlso on iPhoneRolling out

You can cancel one date and keep the rest, or take the whole event off Taste. Either way, what members already collected stays theirs. Both are for owners and admins.

The Dates tab

Open the event and click Dates. Coming up lists every date ahead, with what's booked on each: 12 of 40 reserved on an event with a list, 8 going on one open to anyone. Past shows how many came to each. A repeating event writes its dates three months ahead.

Cancel one date

Click Cancel beside the date.

  • A free event, or a paid date nobody has bought: the date is canceled at once.
  • A paid date with seats sold: the button turns into Cancel and refund? Click it again to go ahead.

The date stays on the list, crossed out, with Canceled · off the count. It comes off everyone's count, so missing it never counts against a member. On the calendar it stays on, crossed out.

Put back brings the date back. It doesn't charge anyone again: seats refunded when you canceled stay free for whoever buys next.

On iPhone, tap Cancel beside the date. A paid date asks Cancel this date? first, with Cancel and refund.

What happens to the money

Canceling a paid date refunds every card payment for it, through Stripe or Square, and frees those seats. Seats someone was in the middle of paying for are let go. A message tells you what happened:

The message saysWhat to do
Refunded 6 card payments.Nothing. The money goes back to their cards.
2 didn't go through, so refund them in Stripe.Refund those in your Stripe or Square dashboard. They show up on the order once you do.
3 paid by hand: give those back yourself.Give back the cash, checks or Venmo, then record it on each order with Refund….

Card refunds can't be taken back

Canceling a paid date refunds every card payment on it at once, and putting the date back doesn't charge anyone again. Make sure it's the right date before you confirm.

Take an event off Taste

Use this when an event is over for good, or should go back to being for your team only.

Turn off On Taste

Open the event and turn off the On Taste switch at the top.

Confirm

It asks Take Trivia Tuesday off Taste? Click Take it off.

Members stop seeing it, and what they collected stays theirs. The event goes back on your team's calendar with its tasks and beers, as a team event, and its slot on your plan is free again. In the Events tab its row says Off.

It won't go while anyone holds a seat for a date still to come: 2 seats are held for dates still to come. Cancel those from Guests first. Cancel or refund those guests, then try again.

An event that runs on A set of dates only lives on Taste, so it can't move to the team calendar. Cancel its dates from Dates instead.

Put it back on Taste

Open it from the Events tab and turn On Taste back on. It takes a slot on your plan again, so on Brewhouse you may need to take another event off first.

On iPhone

In PintDeck Business for iPhone, the Running switch at the top of an event turns it off (Turned off) or back on.
