Paid tickets
Sell seats with a price, where the money goes, what members see, refunds, the paid waitlist, and what an event brought in.
An event set to Paid tickets has a price and a cap. Seats sell three ways, and all of them land on the same guest list and count against the same cap:
- Members buy in PintDeck Taste. They pay by card, and the seat is theirs once the payment goes through.
- You add guests from the guest list: paid already by cash, check, Venmo or anything else, a card you type in, a link they pay on their phone, at the door, or on the house. See Take payment.
- Walk-ins at the door owe the price, and you take it there.
Card payments go straight to your own Stripe or Square account, and payouts, receipts and the processor's reports are in your dashboard there. PintDeck takes no fee. The processor's own fee applies as usual, and each order shows it beside what you keep.
Connect Stripe or Square
Connect an account in Settings › Payments. It's the same Stripe account paid club levels use, so if you've already connected one, you're done. You can also sell tickets on the Square account your register uses. With both ready, Settings › Payments picks which one takes ticket cards. See Payments.
Until one can take cards, a paid event's page says Connect Stripe or Square to sell tickets, with Connect Stripe and Use Square. Members can't buy in the app, and Take a card and Send a link are turned off on the guest list. Money you take by hand works either way.
What members see
A member taps Buy a seat · $25. PintDeck holds a numbered seat for them while they pay, so two people never pay for the same one. If they leave the payment page without paying, the seat goes back on sale after about half an hour. Once the payment goes through, the seat is theirs: a numbered ticket with a door code, like any other.
A paid seat can't be given back in the app. Members are told to ask you about a refund.
Seats you add for a member (by their @handle) show up in Taste right away, with a notification. If they still owe, their ticket says so and they can pay from it, or pay at the door.
Refunds
Refunds are for admins and the owner. Open the guest's order from the guest list (or choose Refund… in the row's … menu), then Refund… on the payment.
Pick what to give back
Under Give back, choose the seats and their money, or Money only to let them keep their seats. A seat already used at the door can't be given back.
Check the amount
Amount fills in from the seats you picked, up to what's left on the payment. Reason is optional.
Say how it went back
A card payment goes back to the card through Stripe or Square, wherever it was paid, and shows on their statement in 5 to 10 days. For money you took by hand, pick how you gave it back under How did you give it back? (cash, a check, Venmo…), so the order and your reports stay right.
Refund it
The button says what will happen, like Refund $25 and free seat 007. Seats given back go on sale again, to the waitlist first.
A refund you make in your own Stripe or Square dashboard shows up on the order too. If it hasn't yet, choose Check payments again in the order's … menu.
When you cancel a paid date, every card payment for it is refunded at once. See Cancel a date.
The paid waitlist
When a paid event is sold out and the waitlist is on, members can join it. When a seat comes free, it's held for the first person waiting for 24 hours, and they get a notification to pay in the app. If they don't, it's offered to the next person. Seats held on a pay link that runs out go to the waitlist the same way.
What it brought in
A paid event's page shows Paid (and how much of it by hand) and Owed for the date you're looking at.
For more, open Platform › Analytics › Reports. Under Taste in the reports menu, Ticket sales is what your paid events brought in after refunds, and Ticket sales by event shows each event's collected, refunded and net, with card fees. Build your own on the Ticket sales data to split it by how people paid or where the money came in (in Taste, a pay link, at the door). See Reports.
