The beer page

What each tab of a beer's page shows (Overview, Stock, Batches and Drinkers) and what you can do from each.

Products › BeersEvery planAlso on iPhone

Click a beer in the Beers list and its page opens in a panel on the right, on Overview. The same page opens when you click a beer from elsewhere in PintDeck, on top of whatever you were doing; close it and you're back where you were.

The line over the name says where the beer pours and what it is, like Tap 2 · American IPA, or its status when it isn't on a tap. Under it, four tabs, each answering one question:

TabAnswersBeside its name
OverviewWhat is it, and where does it show?
StockHow much is left, and when does it run out?The runs-out pill
BatchesHow is it brewing? How many batches
DrinkersWhat do people think of it on PintDeck Taste? The average rating

Overview

Four facts run across the top. Click one for more:

  • Status: On tap (and which tap), Coming soon, Off tap or Archived. Click it to put the beer on a tap or take it off. See Taps, status and tags.
  • Runs out: the out date from your kegs, and how many barrels are in stock. Click it for Stock.
  • Shows on: how many menus show the beer. Click it to jump to Where it shows.
  • Drinkers: the average rating out of 5, and the check-ins. Click it for Drinkers.

Then the beer, in panels:

DetailsABV, IBU, color (SRM), OG → FG, glass, mouthfeel, bitterness, sweetness and flavor.
Where it showsWhether it's on PintDeck Taste, and every TV, print and web menu that shows it or leaves it out. See How beers reach your menus.
Just for youNotes for your team, and four dates: Brewed, Packaged, On tap and Last day.
ScheduledChanges set to happen later, like going on tap or a price change. Schedule a change adds one.
TasksTo-dos tied to this beer.

A few panels only show when there's something in them: Suggested by drinkers (corrections sent from Taste, for admins to Apply or dismiss), Events pouring it, Challenges using it, and Canning runs. Once you've matched your Square catalog, At the register shows which Square buttons ring the beer up.

Edit on a panel, or Edit at the top for all of them at once, changes the beer. See Edit a beer.

When the last batch disagrees with the menu

If the last batch you logged measured a different ABV from the one on your menus, Details says so: The last batch measured 6.4% ABV. Menus say 6.8%. Use 6.4% changes the menus to match. See batches shows the run.

Stock

How much of the beer is left and when it runs out, worked out from your kegs and counts. It's the same view the Kegs tab opens. The button at the top becomes Count kegs (or View kegs, for a beer counted from your keg locations), and the ⋯ menu has Record a draw, Add a past reading, the burn rate breaks, and Where it's in stock….

Reading the date is in Why this date, and leaving an odd stretch out of it is in Burn rate breaks.

Batches

Everything brewing knows about the beer. Four numbers across the top: Batches logged, Last brewed, Next (the next brew on the tank schedule, with Open batch) and Batch to batch, how steady the original gravity has been (Tight, Normal or Loose).

Under them:

  • Recipes: the beer's house recipe and its variations, with days from grain to glass. No recipe yet? Start its recipe. See Recipes.
  • Listed vs brewed: what menus list (ABV, IBU, SRM, OG, FG) against the style's range, the last batch and the average. Set ranges or Edit ranges changes the style's range for the whole brewery.
  • Batches: every batch, newest first, with its OG, FG, ABV, IBU, SRM and size. Click one to open it. Add a past batch logs one brewed before PintDeck, and Import from a spreadsheet brings in several.

Drinkers

What PintDeck Taste knows about the beer, once it's on Taste: its rating, check-ins, who holds its card and what drinkers write. See Beers on PintDeck Taste.

On the iPhone

PintDeck Business for iPhone has the same page and the same four tabs. A beer opened from Taps starts on Stock; one opened from the Beers list starts on Overview. Tap the pencil to edit the whole beer, or tap a row on Overview to change only that part. Row changes wait in a bar at the bottom (2 unsaved changes) until you tap Save and check them; for a few seconds after, Undo puts them back. Delete beer is at the foot of Overview.
