Add a beer
Add one beer in four fields, start it from a past beer or a recipe, or bring in a whole list.
Adding a beer asks for four things: its name, style, ABV and tap. Prices, the description, the image and the rest go on its page once it's saved.
Add one beer
Open Add a beer
On Products › Beers, click Add beer.
Pick where it starts
Start from has three choices:
- Blank: an empty beer.
- A past beer: pick one that's off tap or archived, newest first. It copies that beer's style, specs, prices, flavor, description and image, and fills in its name and ABV for you to change. Use it for a seasonal that's back, or a new batch of an old favorite you're listing again.
- A recipe: takes the recipe's name. Pick the style it pours as.
Name, style, ABV and tap
Name, Style and ABV % are required; Add and open stays off until all three are filled in.
Tap is Not yet or one of your free taps. A beer that's Not yet on a tap is Coming soon until it goes on one. The list only offers taps nobody's using; to put a beer on a tap that's taken, add it first, then put it on that tap from its page.
Add and open
Add and open saves the beer and opens its page on Overview, ready for prices, a description and an image.
Not enough taps in the list?
The taps on offer come from Number of Taps in Settings › General: how many taps your brewery has.
Styles in this list
The Style list here has every built-in style and the styles your brewery has added. To make a new style, add it in Settings › Beer styles, or type it into the style box on the beer's page. See Styles and sub-styles.
Bring in a whole list
Starting out, or moving from another system? Import a list instead, at the bottom of Add a beer, brings in a spreadsheet, a POS export or a copy of your menu. A brand-new Beers tab offers Import a beer list on the empty page too. How it works is in Bringing in your lists.
On the iPhone
In PintDeck Business for iPhone, tap + on Taps (or in the full Beers list) for the new-beer form. Type the name at the top, then fill in The pour (style, sub-style, ABV, IBU) and On the menu (color, status, tap, featured, photo). Details opens the description, prices, taste, serving and dates.
On the phone you can pick a tap that's taken: PintDeck asks before Put this beer there instead, and the beer that was on it comes off when you save.
