The Beers list
Finding beers on the Beers tab, choosing columns, saving filter presets, and changing many beers at once.
Products › Beers lists every beer, grouped by status: On tap, Coming soon, Off tap, and Archived when you show them. It starts sorted by tap number. Click a beer to open its page.
What the columns show
Eight columns show to start:
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Tap | The tap number, or off. |
| Beer | The name, with style and sub-style under it. |
| Status | On tap, Coming soon, Off tap or Archived, with its tags and a date. |
| ABV | The ABV, as a percent. |
| Price | The full pour price. |
| Runs out | The out date and its pill, from your kegs. |
| Shows on | How many menus show the beer. |
| Drinkers | The average rating on PintDeck Taste, then the number of check-ins. |
Customize, above the table on the right, adds or hides columns: the image, style and sub-style on their own, the Menu status word (what menus print), Featured, PintDeck (whether it's on Taste), the description and notes, IBU, SRM, OG, FG, color, the taste profile, serving formats, glassware, the half pour and sampler prices, the four dates, and when it was created and last updated. Drag the Shown list to reorder columns. Show all and Reset are at the bottom, with Dense for tighter rows.
Click a column heading to sort by it, and again to flip it. Recently updated sorts by the last change, newest first.
Find beers
- Search beers… looks through names, styles, sub-styles and descriptions.
- Style, Tags and Shows on are quick filters. Shows on finds beers On a menu or On no menu.
- + Filter adds a filter on any column: a range for numbers and prices, dates, a list of choices, or text.
- Filters opens every filter at once, with a live count of how many beers match. Reset clears them, Done closes it.
- ✕ Clear all clears every filter.
Archived beers stay out of the list. The count under the filters says how many there are; click it to show them, and hide archived to hide them again.
Your columns and filters are remembered in this browser.
Save a preset
A preset saves the filters, columns, sort and row density together, under a name, so you can come back to a view like Seasonals on tap.
Set up the view
Set the filters, columns and sort you want.
Save it
Click Presets, then Save current…. Name it and click Save. Save preset… in the Filters panel does the same.
Come back to it
Pick it from Presets any time.
Presets are yours: they're saved to your account, under My presets, and your teammates have their own. When you change a view after picking a preset, a dot shows on its name: Update (with the preset's name) saves the change into it. Rename…, Delete and Detach from preset are in the same menu.
Change many beers at once
Tick the box beside each beer (or the one in the heading for every beer shown). A bar appears with how many you picked, Clear, Edit Selected and Delete selected.
Edit Selected can:
| Action | Does |
|---|---|
| Set Featured, Remove Featured | Turns Featured on or off. |
| Set Status | Sets the word menus print: Available, Coming Soon, Limited, Seasonal, Temporarily Out, Sold Out or Archived. |
| Set Style | Gives them all one style. |
| Mouthfeel, Bitterness, Sweetness, Glassware | Sets one value for all. |
| Set Pricing... | Sets the full pour, half pour or sampler price. Leave a price blank to keep each beer's own. |
| Set Date | Sets Tap Release, End of Availability, Brewed On or Packaged On. |
| Clear Tap Numbers | Takes them all off their taps. |
| Clear All Prices, Clear All Dates, Clear Sensory | Empties those fields. |
Delete selected deletes them for good. If any of them has been logged on PintDeck Taste, nothing is deleted: PintDeck names the ones holding it up so you can deselect them. See Archive or delete a beer.
After an import
After an import, Open Beers shows only the beers from that import, under a From this import chip, so you can select them all and fix them together. Click the chip to see every beer again.
On a phone-size screen
On a narrow screen the Beers tab is a card list instead of a table, with search, filters for status and style, and sorting. Each card's ⋯ has Edit and Delete.
In PintDeck Business for iPhone, the full list is Taps › Every beer › Beers. Its ⋯ menu has Select beers (to delete several), sorting and a style filter.
