On hand
How much of each beer is left, the day it runs out, and which taps need you today.
On hand is the first of the three tabs on the Kegs page, and the one to start a day on. Every beer gets a row with a bar that ends the day it runs out at its usual pace.
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| On hand | How much of each beer you have, and when it runs out. This page. |
| Kegs | Every keg you own: where it is and what's in it. See The Kegs tab. |
| Activity | Every keg that moved and every count, newest first. See Move kegs. |
The buttons at the top follow the tab. On hand has Add a break, for days that shouldn't count toward a beer's pace (see Burn rate breaks). The ? button brings back the tab's intro, Show me around for a short tour, and Read the guide for these pages.
Which beers are listed
Pick On tap, Off tap or All at the top left.
- On tap is every beer with a tap number.
- Off tap is every beer without one that PintDeck tracks: it has been counted, is in stock at a place, or is in a serving tank.
Find a beer searches by name. Sort with Needs you first, Runs out first or Tap number.
Taps with nothing on them show at the bottom, with Put a beer on. Click a tap's number to pick its beer.
Read the bars
Each row shows the Tap, the Beer, how much is Left (barrels, and the pace a week), the bar, and the day it Runs out.
- The bar starts today and ends the day the beer runs out at its pace. The lighter band around its end is the Likely range.
- A diamond is Next batch ready: the next brew of that beer on your brew schedule, on the day it's ready.
- Red hatching is Nothing to pour: the days between running out and the next batch, labeled like 3 days dry.
From today lines every bar up at today. Since last fill reaches back up to three weeks, so the lighter start of each bar is what's been poured since its last fill. Choose how far ahead to look: Next 4 weeks, Next 6 weeks or Next 3 months. A date past the edge shows as an arrow with the date. These choices are remembered in your browser.
What each status means
A beer has one status everywhere it appears.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Days left with a green, amber or red dot | A date, such as 5 days or Tomorrow. The color comes from your bands, shown under the list (by default 7+ days, 3–7 and Under 3). Click Change there to edit your Tap color thresholds. |
| Count | At its usual pace it would be gone by now, so the date waits for a fresh count (Needs a count) or for its empty kegs to be marked (Scan empties). |
| Out | The last count is zero. The row says when it kicked. |
| No date | Not counted yet, too few counts to tell its pace, or on a break while it's off tap (Paused). |
A hand-counted beer gets a date once it has been counted twice, a few days apart. Until it has a pace of its own it may borrow one from similar beers; see Why this date.
Needs you
Turn on Needs you to see only the taps to deal with today: beers that are out, in the red, or due a count. Each of those rows has one button for the next step.
| Button | When it shows | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Mark sold out | The beer is out and a menu still lists it. | Shows it as sold out on your menus. |
| Change beer | The beer is out and no menu still lists it as available. | Pick the next beer for the tap. |
| Plan a brew | It's in the red and no batch is ready before it runs out. | Opens the brew plan for that beer. |
| Count | It's due a hand count, or has never been counted. | Opens the count. See Count by hand. |
| Check kegs | It's counted from its kegs, and they should be empty by now. | Opens the beer on its full kegs, so you can mark the kicked ones empty. |
Each row's menu
The … at the end of a row has:
- Count kegs. For a beer counted from its kegs this is grayed out and says Counted from its kegs' scans.
- Change beer and Clear the tap, for beers on a tap. Clearing a tap asks whether the beer is done pouring for a while; see Taking a beer off tap.
- Add a break, for this beer only.
- Open beer.
Click anywhere else on a row to open the beer's page on its Stock tab.
