Add kegs

Add kegs one at a time or as a numbered range, with the ID numbers that scans look up.

Inventory › Kegs › KegsBrewhouse and ReserveAlso on iPhone

Add each keg once. Its label is what PintDeck calls it. Its ID numbers are what a scan looks up, so they should match what's stamped or stuck on the keg. Which QR stickers work, and what to buy, is in Keg QR stickers.

You need at least one place first. Until you have one, Add kegs says to create one via Manage places; see Places and stock.

Add one keg

Open Add kegs

On the Kegs tab, click Add kegs.

Fill in the keg

  • Label, such as #27.
  • Size: 1/2 BBL, 1/4 BBL, Sixth BBL, 50 L, 30 L or Other.
  • Starting location. Your default home is picked for you, if you've set one.
  • ID numbers (optional). Type one and press Enter or a comma. A keg can have several, and each must be unique in your brewery.
  • Notes.

Add Keg

The keg starts out clean at its starting location.

If you leave ID numbers blank, the keg's label becomes its ID number, unless another keg already uses that number. A keg with no ID number can't be found by a scan. To find any, filter Every keg by IDs and pick No ID.

Add a numbered range

Type a range like 1-10 as the Label. The dialog shows what it will make: Will create 10 kegs: #1, #2, #3, … #10. They all share the size and starting location, and the button reads Add 10 kegs.

ID numbers can't be typed for a range. Each keg takes its label, with the #, as its ID number. If the numbers on your kegs don't have the #, add each keg's number under Edit details so a scan finds it.

Leading zeros don't matter

ID numbers ignore leading zeros when you scan, type or search for them. A keg stamped 0123 answers to 123, and one stamped 123 answers to 0123. Store the ID however it's printed. The flip side: because they're the same code, one keg can't be 0123 while another is 123.

Edit a keg

Open the keg and choose … › Edit details to change its Label, Size, ID numbers and Notes. Save with Save.

Choose … › QR codes on a keg's page for one code per ID number. Download saves each as an image to print as a label. Scanning the code opens that keg; see Scan kegs on iPhone.

Add kegs on iPhone

In Cellar › Kegs › Every keg, + adds one keg. To add a stack of kegs with fresh labels, scan them: New kegs from scan in the … menu turns each new QR code into a keg, with the code as its ID number. See New tags.

Archive or delete a keg

Pick kegs on the Kegs tab, then choose … › Archive or Delete. Each row in Every keg has the same two in its menu.

Archived kegs leave the Kegs tab and bulk actions, and their history is kept.

Deleting can't be undone

Delete removes the keg and all of its movement history. Archive a keg you've retired instead.
