Set up your club

Starting the club, what Club settings holds, sharing the join link and QR code, and choosing how people can join.

Customers › ClubEvery planRolling out

Starting a club takes a name. Everything else, from levels to the terms on the join page, lives in Club settings and can wait until you need it. Only admins and the owner can start or change the club.

Start the club

Name it

Open Customers › Club. Under What do you call it?, type the club's name, such as Ridgeline Mug Club.

Open it

Click Start the club. You can add members by hand straight away.

Add a level

The join link and the register sign people up into a level, so add one before you share the link. A free level is fine, and for most clubs it's the whole club. See Levels and dues.

Add your first perk

A birthday pint is the usual first one. See Perks.

Club settings

Open ⋯ at the top of the Club tab and choose Club settings.

FieldWhat it does
NameThe club's name, everywhere members see it.
What members getA sentence or two shown on the join page.
Member capThe most members the club takes. Leave it blank for no limit.
How people joinWhich ways in are open. See below.
Membership levelsFree and paid levels. See Levels and dues.
TermsPrinted on the join page: age, what discounts cover, anything your state requires.

Click Save changes. Levels you add or edit here save on their own, with their own Add or Save.

The cap counts active and lapsed members. Lowering it never removes anyone who already joined; it only stops new sign-ups until the club is under it again.

The join link never changes

The link is made from the club's name when you start it. Renaming the club later keeps the old link, so a QR code you've already printed keeps working.

The Overview has a Join link card with the link and a QR code for it. Copy link copies the link. Put the code on a table tent or a coaster, or send the link to anyone you'd like to sign up.

Whoever opens it sees your club's name, what members get, the levels they can pick and your terms, and signs up with a name and an email or phone number. They get their member number on the spot. See What members see.

Choose how people join

How people join, in Club settings, has a switch for each way in:

SwitchLets
The join linkAnyone with the link or the QR code sign themselves up.
The registerA bartender sign someone up from Square, with no one opening PintDeck. See Square at the register.

They all start on. The line above the switches says what your choice means in words, such as Anyone can join from the link. Staff can sign someone up at the register.

You can always add someone yourself from Add member, whatever these say. With the join link off, a sign-up from the join page is turned away and told to ask at the bar.

Each level can also open or close a way in on its own, such as a cellar level you only sign people up for in person. See Levels and dues.
