Perks
Making a perk with New perk, what earns each kind, when perks are handed out, giving one by hand, and turning a perk off.
A perk is what a member gets, and what earns it: a pint on their birthday, 10% off every round, one free after ten. New perks are made in four steps, and go live the moment you create them. Only admins and the owner can make or change perks.
Make a perk
Open New perk
Click New perk at the top of Levels & perks, or Add perk on a level to start with that level picked.
Pick a kind
Six cards, in plain words:
| Kind | What it is |
|---|---|
| A welcome gift | Handed out the moment someone joins. Once, ever. |
| A standing benefit | True the whole time they're in a level, like 10% off every round. Never used up, nothing to redeem. |
| Something every month | One each month for everyone in the level. |
| Something they earn | After a number of drinks bought or visits, or when they reach a card tier. |
| On a special day | Their birthday, their join anniversary, or a date range you set. |
| Handed out by you | Nothing gives it out on its own. You give it from a member's page. |
Say what they get
Pick the reward: Free item, Percent off, Amount off, Guest pass, Merch, Early access or Custom. Give it a Name your bartenders will use. Percent off, Amount off and Merch also take a value; for merch it's a percent off, and 100 makes it free. The fine print is shown to the member and to whoever redeems it.
Set the rules
Where a kind has more than one trigger, What counts picks it, with the count, card tier or dates it needs. Then:
- Who: Every level, or one level.
- How often: Once ever, Once a year, Every visit or No limit. Each trigger starts on the usual choice.
- Expires after: days from when they earn it. Blank never expires.
- Redeem at the brewery only: on by default. Turn it off for something used elsewhere, like a merch code.
A standing benefit only asks Who.
Check it and create it
Does this look right? reads the perk back, with Edit beside each line. With Square connected, this step also asks how it comes off the ticket: see Square at the register. Click Create perk.
What earns a perk
| Earned by | When it's handed out |
|---|---|
| When they join | The moment they join. |
| While they're in this level | Never: a standing benefit is true for everyone in the level, all the time. |
| One a month | Each month, to everyone in the level. It expires at the end of its month. |
| After buying a number of things | Each time they reach the count, counted from your Square register. See buy-ten cards. |
| After a number of visits | Once they reach the count. |
| When they reach a card tier | When their card for one of your beers reaches that tier or above. Once per beer. |
| When they reach an event tier | The same, for your event series. |
| When they hold a First Pour | When they hold a First Pour on one of your beers. |
| On their birthday | On the day, if their birthday is on file. |
| On their join anniversary | Each year on the day they joined. |
| During a date range | Once to every active member, while the range is open. |
| When you hand it out | Only when you give it. |
Join perks land straight away, so a bartender can tell someone what they just got. Everything else is handed out once a night. Hand out perks now, in the ⋯ menu on Levels & perks, runs it on the spot and says how many perks it handed out, how many expired, and how many members lapsed.
Only active members earn perks. A lapsed member keeps what they already hold.
Visits and card tiers come from PintDeck Taste
A visit is a day a member logs one of your beers inside your brewery on PintDeck Taste, however many they log. Visits, card tiers and First Pours are read from Taste, so only members linked to a Taste account earn them, and your brewery has to be claimed on Taste first: see Beers on PintDeck Taste. The Overview's Linked to Taste number says how many members can.
Give a perk by hand
Open the member
On Members, click their row.
Pick the perk
Click Give a perk, choose it under Which perk, and click Give it to them. Any perk that's on can be given this way.
You can also hand a perk to everyone an email reaches: see Email your members.
The perks list
Under the level cards, every perk is listed By level, with Every level first, or as All perks. Each level's band has its own Add perk. Search with Search perks…, or filter by Earned by. Held by is how many members hold one they haven't used; a standing benefit says standing.
To change a perk, open its ⋯ menu and choose Edit. Every field is on one screen, under What they get, Who earns it, Rules and, with Square, At the register. Click Save changes.
Turn a perk off, or delete it
Turn off, in a perk's ⋯ menu, stops it being handed out and stops it at your register. Turn on starts it again.
Turning a perk off takes back unused ones
Members holding it lose any they haven't used. If anyone does, PintDeck asks first and says how many. Anything already redeemed stays redeemed.
Delete removes a perk for good, but only one that was never handed out. Once anyone has held it, turn it off instead.
