Tasks for events, brews and beers

Attach a task to the private event, event, brew, tank or beer it's for, and work through those tasks from that thing's own page.

Most tasks are for something: order flowers for the Henley wedding, clean BT1 before the transfer, print table tents for the release. A task can say what it's for, and that thing's page then lists its tasks, so you can see what's left without leaving it.

A task can be for:

KindIts tasks are on
Private eventThe quote, below Notes.
EventThe event's Tasks tab.
Event on TasteThe Taste event's Tasks tab.
BrewThe brew's Overview.
TankThe tank's page.
BeerThe beer's page.

From the thing's page

Each of those pages has a Tasks panel: what's open, ticked off in place.

Add a task

Click Add, type What needs doing?, pick a Due date if it has one, and click Add.

Tick it off

Click the circle beside a task. Done tasks fold away under 2 done; click that to see them.

Open it

Click a task's title to open Task details over the page, with its assignees, dates and comments.

A task added here goes in the Tasks Inbox, already linked. A task that's late says Was due in red, and one that lives in a project other than the Inbox names it.

From the task

In Task details, For lists what the task is for. Each one opens its thing, and its ✕ unlinks it; the task stays.

To add one, click Link to an event, brew or beer (or Link when it has one already) and search. The list offers:

  • private events from the last month on,
  • events from the last month on, and every repeating one,
  • active events on Taste,
  • brews ready in the last month or still to come,
  • your tanks and your beers.

A task can be for more than one thing.

A whole template for one thing

For an event or a brew you prepare for the same way every time, lay out a saved template from its date. On the thing's Tasks panel, open the … menu and choose Add from a template….

Pick the template

Each one shows how many tasks it has.

Line up its dates

Falls on the day of is the template task that lands on Day: usually its last task, like Event day. Day starts on the thing's own date. Every other dated task keeps the same distance from it.

Name the project and add

New project starts as the thing's name. Click Add tasks.

The tasks go in a new project, each linked back to the thing. A template needs at least one task with a due date to line up from. To make a template, see Linked dates and templates.
