The calendar

What shows on the calendar, how to narrow it down, and how to follow it from Apple Calendar or Outlook.

Operations › CalendarBrewhouse and ReserveAlso on iPhone

The Calendar puts the whole operation on one month: your events, private events, brews and tasks. You don't fill it in here so much as read it. Each thing on it comes from its own tab, and clicking it opens that thing over the calendar.

What's on it

The chips above the month turn each kind on or off.

ChipWhat it shows
EventsYour team's events, each date of a repeating one, and the dates of your Taste events, marked ✦. A canceled Taste date stays on, crossed out.
Private eventsEvery quote on its date, from Draft to Canceled.
BrewsEach batch as a bar from brew day to ready, named for the beer and its tanks (Cutline IPA · FV1 → BT1). The brew day gets its own entry too, and so do dry hops, crashes, transfers and packaging days from the cellar tasks. A late cellar task sits on today, marked (late). Canceled batches are left off.
TasksA task with a start and a due date is a bar across those days. A task with only a due date sits on that day with an outlined chip. Done tasks are crossed out.

A day shows three rows. When there are more, it says +2 more: click the day to see all of them.

Move around

The arrows step a month back or forward, and Today comes back to this month. 1 mo, 2 mo and 3 mo show that many months side by side.

On a wide screen showing one month, this month has a list beside it: Today, then the Next 7 days, so you can see what's next without reading the grid.

Click a day

Clicking a day opens a small panel with everything on it, each row opening its thing, and four buttons that add to that day: Event, Private event, Brew and Task.

Add something

Add at the top right offers the same four, set to today.

AddWhat happens
EventThe event form opens, on that day. See Add an event.
Private eventA new quote is made on that day and opens. Private events are on the Reserve plan. See Build a quote.
BrewPlan a brew opens with that day as the brew day. See Plan a brew.
TaskNew task asks What needs doing? and when it's Due. Add task puts it in the Tasks Inbox and opens it.

Filters

Filters opens a row of checkboxes for each kind that's on:

  • Private event status: Draft, Quoted, Booked, Deposit Paid, Completed or Canceled.
  • Brewery event category: the kinds your events are filed under.
  • Tanks: only brews in these tanks.
  • Task projects, Task tags and Task assignees: only tasks that match.

With nothing ticked in a row, that kind isn't filtered.

Colors

Each thing takes its color from what it is: a team event from its kind, a brew from its beer's color, and a private event from the Calendar color on its quote, or else its status. Colors, in the … menu, sets the color tasks are drawn in and the colors of your task tags. Changes apply to everyone in your brewery.

Subscribe from your phone

Subscribe in your calendar app, in the … menu, gives you a link for each of four feeds: Private events, Brews, Events and Events on Taste. Each is its own feed, so you can follow only what you want.

Click the copy button beside the feed you want.

Add it to your calendar app

In Apple Calendar, File › New Calendar Subscription. In Outlook, Add calendar › From internet. Paste the link.

The Private events, Brews and Events on Taste feeds run from today to a year out, and canceled Taste dates leave the feed. Events has every event, and a repeating one repeats in your calendar app. Tasks don't have a feed.

Treat the links like passwords

Anyone with a feed's link can read it, signed in or not. Share it only with your team. If one gets out, the rotate button beside it makes a new link; the old one stops working at once, so everyone using it needs the new one.

On iPhone

In PintDeck Business for iPhone, the Calendar tab is the week ahead: a strip of seven days with a dot for each thing, then each day in order. Besides brewing, events, bookings and to-dos, it shows planned changes and the day each tap is forecast to run out (Tap 3 runs out). The chips at the top narrow it to Everything, Brewing, Events, Bookings or To-dos, and + adds A Taste event, A calendar event, A booking, Brewing or A to-do.

Under Plan, Calendar opens the whole month, with chips to show or hide each kind and a button to subscribe in Apple Calendar.
