Payment problems and lapsed plans
What happens when your card fails, what a brewery without an active plan looks like, and how to get back in.
If a payment for your PintDeck plan fails, you get a warning and time to fix it. If the plan ends, your brewery is paused, not deleted: everything comes back when you pick a plan again.
When a payment fails
A yellow banner across the top of the dashboard says Your last subscription payment failed and we'll retry shortly. Update your payment method to avoid an interruption. Click Update payment method to open Stripe's billing page and add a card that works. Stripe tries the payment again.
During a free trial the banner reads Your card on file couldn't be charged. You keep full use of PintDeck until the trial ends; update the card before then.
If the retries don't go through, your subscription goes On Hold. A red banner says Your subscription is on hold due to a payment issue, the dashboard locks, and Update payment method is still the way back.
Stripe emails your primary billing contact about failed payments. Anyone else with Payment problems ticked gets a copy. See Billing contacts.
When your plan has ended
A brewery with no active plan, because it was canceled or a payment never went through, is locked:
- Every page of the dashboard shows Subscription required, with what happened: Your free trial has ended, Your subscription is on hold, Your last payment failed, or Your subscription isn't active.
- The sidebar is grayed out and says Subscribe to unlock taps, menus, and brewhouse tools.
- Your TV menus and playlists show (your brewery) is offline: The PintDeck subscription for this display is paused. The menu will be back as soon as the brewery resubscribes.
- Nothing is deleted. Your taps, menus and brewhouse data are kept as they are.
Club members keep what they were promised: perks they hold can still be redeemed. See Club.
Get back in
Pick a plan
On the Subscription required screen, click Pick a plan (or Subscribe if this brewery has used its free trial).
Check out
Choose monthly or annual and a plan, then pay through Stripe. A brewery that has had its free trial is charged straight away.
Everything opens again as it was, and your TV menus come back.
If you're on another brewery's team too, you can still switch to it from the top of the sidebar while this one is locked.
