Card Studio

Giving your Taste cards your house look, with your logo, color, texture, window and back, and publishing it to every card.

Customers › Taste › CardsEvery planRolling out

The Card Studio designs the card every one of your beers prints in Taste. It has five steps and the real card in the middle, so there's nothing to drag and nothing to put in the wrong place. Changes save to a draft as you go; drinkers see nothing until you publish.

Open Customers › Taste, Cards, then Open Card Studio. The Cards view shows your card as drinkers hold it today. You need your brewery claimed, and only owners and admins can open the Studio.

Find your way around

  • The top bar switches between Beer cards, Event tickets and Membership cards. On Beer cards it also has the draft's state (Draft saved and how many changes), Discard, undo and redo (⌘Z and ⇧⌘Z), History and Publish.
  • The steps down the left, each with a one-line summary of your choice. A dot marks a step that differs from what's published.
  • The card in the middle. Pick one of your beers above it, switch editions (FP, I to V) to see each finish, and click Back to turn it over. Move across the card to tilt it.

The five steps

Upload an SVG. PintDeck keeps its shape and drops its colors so it can be engraved, and How it prints lists anything it fixed along the way. A PNG works too, but only fills the corner ring. Until you upload a logo, your initials are engraved instead.

A PNG saves straight away rather than joining the draft, because it's your brewery's mark everywhere else on Taste too. SVGs can be up to 1 MB and PNGs up to 5 MB.

Where it prints turns your logo on or off in four places: Top band, Window, Paper and Back.

Color

  • Style colors: each beer wears its style's color, IPAs orange and stouts brown.
  • House color: every card in your color. Pick it from the swatch.

If your SVG has a main color, From your logo offers it. Pour each window in the beer's own color keeps a stout's window dark and a pilsner's pale; off, every window is your color.

Texture

What the paper is printed with. Pick one of 27, or narrow them by family first. Strength sets how heavy it prints: Whisper, Printed or Bold.

Window

What every beer shows in its window, unless it has art of its own:

WindowShows
Engraved logoYour logo cut out of line work, in the beer's color.
Beer nameThe name set large and stacked.
PourThe beer's color as a glass, with a head and bubbles.
ElementThe style as an element tile: symbol, ABV and style.
SwatchThe beer's color as a flat chip with its label.
Beer artEach beer's image from your Beers list. A beer without one shows your engraved logo.

With Beer art, Picture sets Fit (the whole image) or Fill (edges cropped), and Background sets Beer color or White behind it.

Back

  • Manifest: your beers, and which editions this drinker holds of each.
  • Logo only: your logo in the ring, on your color.

Art for one beer

To replace the window on one beer's cards only, pick the beer above the card and click Upload art under it, or Upload in the Window step. JPEG, PNG or WebP, up to 5 MB. Art saves straight away and isn't part of the draft. Replace art swaps it; the trash button removes it.

Publish

Click Publish

The dialog shows your card Now and After publishing, and lists what changes, step by step.

Confirm

Click Publish, or Keep editing. Every card already in someone's deck repaints with the new design. Editions, issue numbers, dates and holders don't change.

Discard throws away the draft and goes back to what's published. History lists every design you've published, newest marked Live. Restore puts an older one in your draft; publish it to put it back on every card.

Tickets and membership cards

Event tickets and Membership cards wear the house design you set on Beer cards, and add only what's their own. Changes there save as you go.

  • Event tickets: pick an event series, then Ticket color (House color or This event's own color) and What one date is called, printed on the ticket as in NIGHT 116. Art is set on the event itself. See Taste events.
  • Membership cards: pick a club level, then By its place in the club or Its own color. See Club.

Your color shows on challenges too

The preview of a challenge on Taste uses your house color from the Card Studio.
