The tank schedule
Reading the tank schedule, moving a batch, adding tanks, blocking off days, and the defaults the planner uses.
The Tank Schedule shows every tank down the side and the days across, with each batch as a bar in the tanks it takes. Use it to see what's free, move a brew, and plan the next one. The switch at the top flips between Schedule and Batches, a list of the same batches.

The rows, top to bottom:
| Row | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Brew days | One mark per brew day: outlined while planned, filled once brewed, ringed in red when a planned brew day passed without a brew. |
| Suggested | Dashed bars for brews PintDeck thinks you should plan, in the tanks that would fit. See Plan a brew. |
| Tanks | Grouped as Fermenters, Unitanks, Brite tanks and Serving tanks. |
| No tank yet | Planned batches that haven't been given a tank. |
Each batch is drawn in its beer's color:
- Planned: a pale bar with a dashed outline. Brewed: solid. Packaged or dumped: faded.
- A batch that moves from a fermenter to a brite is two bars joined by a dotted line at the transfer.
- Inside a fermenter bar, hatching marks the cold crash and conditioning days, and a dot marks each dry hop.
- A batch still in its tank after its planned day runs on, hatched, to today.
- A red line along the top of a tank row means two batches overlap in it.
Hover a bar for where the batch is now, its tank and days, and its path (FV2 → BT1). Click it to open the batch.
The toolbar has Today, Jump to…, a month back or forward, and Day, Week or Month zoom. Scroll sideways for earlier or later.
Move a batch
- Drag a bar to move the whole batch to another day, or up or down to another tank.
- Alt-drag moves only that tank's part of the batch.
- Drag a bar's right end to give it more or fewer days. Anything after it in another tank moves along.
A brewed batch's brew day is history: you can stretch it or change its tank, but not slide it to other days.
PintDeck checks every move. If another batch is in the tank (counting your cleaning days), the days are blocked off, the tank is archived, or the tank holds less than the batch, the bar snaps back and says why, for example FV2 has Cutline IPA in it Oct 3 – Oct 17.
The Batches view
Batches lists every batch, open ones first by brew day, then finished ones newest first. Filter with Open, Planned, In the tanks, Done or All, or search with Find a beer or batch #. Columns are Beer, Where it is, Brew day, Tanks, Ready, Size and OG → FG. Click a row to open the batch.
Needs you
Above the schedule, Needs you collects what's waiting on someone. Click a chip to act on it.
- A planned brew day that passed with nothing brewed: Cutline IPA: brew day passed Oct 3. Opens the batch.
- A beer to brew soon, or already late: Brew Cutline IPA by Oct 14. Opens Plan a brew with the suggested day.
- A cellar task that's due today or late. A batch's gravity readings count once.
While a brew day is running, a Brewing now line above it shows the beer, the current step and its clock. Open takes you to the brew day.
Add and change tanks
Add tanks from ⋯ › Add a tank: a Name, a Type (Fermenter, Brite Tank, Unitank or Serving Tank) and a Capacity (bbl). Capacity matters: PintDeck won't book a batch into a tank smaller than it.
Each tank's ⋯ on its row has Edit, Archive (or Restore) and Delete. Archived tanks drop off the schedule; ⋯ › Show archived tanks brings them back into view.
Deleting a tank
Delete removes the tank and every booking in it. To stop using a tank and keep its history, archive it instead.
Click a tank's name to open it: its level, its history, and Brews (what's in it now, what's next and what it held before). Tanks you pour from are covered in Serving tanks.
Block off days
⋯ › Block off days marks days a tank, or the whole brewery, is out of use: a vacation, a wedding, maintenance. Give it a Label, choose Applies to (All tanks (brewery-wide) or one tank), and a Start and End. Blocked days show as gray hatched blocks; click one to edit or delete it. PintDeck won't book a batch over them, and won't plan a brew day while the whole brewery is blocked off.
Highlights
Highlights in the toolbar shades days that repeat, like a delivery day or a cleaning day, so they stand out. Each has a Label, a Color and Repeats: Weekly (day of week), Every other week or Day of month. Highlights are only shading; they don't change what PintDeck plans.
How you brew
⋯ › How you brew… sets how your brewhouse works, and the days the planner uses when a recipe doesn't say. A recipe's own fermentation steps and carbonation always win.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Brew days | Mon to Fri | The weekdays PintDeck will plan a brew on. |
| Brews a day | 1 | How many batches the brewhouse can brew in a day. |
| Safety days | 3 | The next batch should be pourable this many days before the last keg runs out. |
| Fermenter days | 14 | Fermenter time for a beer with no recipe steps and no history. |
| Brite days | 5 | Time in a brite when a recipe doesn't say. |
| Force-carb days | 2 | Carbonating in a unitank or in the keg. |
| Natural carb days | 14 | Bottle or keg conditioning. |
| Cleaning days | 0 | Days a tank sits empty between batches. 0 means one batch can leave in the morning and the next go in that afternoon. |
| Gravity check every | 2 | Days between gravity readings while a batch ferments. 0 means don't ask. |
The Recipes tab's ⋯ menu has the same How you brew….
On the iPhone
Open Cellar › Tanks. The brewing card at the top shows the next brew day and how many beers to brew soon, with Schedule. Below it, each tank says what's in it, its day and when it's ready.
Brew schedule shows the next 3 weeks or 6 weeks. Tap a bar to open the batch, tap a dashed suggestion to plan it, or use Plan a brew at the bottom. Moving batches and changing tanks are done on the web.
