FAQ
Questions, answered.
Everything breweries ask us about PintDeck, in one place.
What happens when I start?
You pick a plan and start your 14 free days. You add a card at checkout, but nothing is charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before then. From there, the setup guide walks you through it: what to set up first, adding what’s on tap, and your first menu.
Do I need TVs?
Nope. TVs are just one place your menu can show up. It’s also on your website, your printed menus and Taste, and nothing in keg management, brewing or the club needs a screen at all.
Can I get help?
Of course. The setup guide walks you through each step and gets you up and running. If you have questions, or you’d rather set it up together, reach out anytime and we’ll help.
Is there a contract?
No contract. Pay monthly, or pay yearly and save 20%. You can cancel anytime from the Billing tab with no cancellation fee, and you keep your plan through the end of the period you’ve paid for. If you’re new, you can get a full refund within 14 days of your first charge. After that, monthly charges aren’t refunded, and yearly plans get back their unused whole months, less a $25 handling fee.
Do you charge per keg, per screen or per member?
No. Your plan’s price covers everything in it, with no per-keg, per-screen or per-member fees on top.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, anytime. Move up or down from your account whenever it suits you.
Will my price go up?
Not by surprise. If we ever change our prices, we’ll email you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and the new price starts at your next renewal. If you’d rather not pay it, cancel before then.
What do I need to track kegs?
Just a phone with the PintDeck Business app. Put a printed QR code on each keg and scan it, or count kegs by hand. There’s no scanner to buy.
Do I need the app to track kegs?
No. You can track kegs entirely on the web, and look a keg up by its number there. Scanning is the one thing that needs the PintDeck Business app on your phone.
Do I need keg monitors?
No. PintDeck keeps count from phone scans and hand counts, so there’s no hardware to put on your lines.
Is there a keg limit?
None at all. Every plan with keg tracking takes as many kegs as you own.
How does it pick a run-out date?
It’s an estimate from our own in-house model, worked out from how fast you’ve been pouring lately, using your recent keg scans and hand counts. It’s an estimate, not a promise, and it’s only as good as the data behind it. Regular, consistent counts and scans keep it close; a missed count or an unusual week can throw it off. That’s why each beer shows a likely range as well as a date, and you can open the beer to see exactly how it got there.
Do I need the app for brew day?
No. Brew day runs on the web, so you can run it from a computer in the brewhouse. The PintDeck Business app runs the same brew day on your phone, ringing for every step and addition even with the phone locked, and everyone sees the same day.
Do members need an app?
No. Members join at the bar, from a QR code or with your staff’s help, using just a name and a phone number. PintDeck Taste is there for members who want an app to keep track of the rewards they have now and the ones coming up, but it’s never required: members get every benefit without it.
Do I need Square?
No. If you’re on Square, perks come off the ticket at the register on their own. If you’re not, your staff look the member up and tap Redeem in PintDeck.
Does it work with my Square register?
It does. Connect Square once, and a member’s perks show up on their customer profile right at the register.
Can members pay for a level?
Yes. Paid levels bill through Square or through your own Stripe account, whichever you use.
Can I sell tickets?
Yes. Card payments go through your own Square or Stripe account.
Can an event repeat every week?
Yes. Set it to repeat every week, every two weeks, every four weeks or monthly.
Who hears about my events?
People who follow you on PintDeck Taste, by push notification or email if they’ve turned those on. You can tell them up to 4 times a month on Brewhouse and 12 on Reserve. You can also export an event to promote it on your own social media. [PLACEHOLDER: there’s no events export in the app yet, on the web or iPhone; keep this line only if it ships first]
What does Taste cost?
For your brewery, it’s included in every plan, starting with Taster. For drinkers, it’s free. Your brewery page and beer cards on Taste come with your plan at no extra cost, and drinkers never pay: there are no ads and nothing behind a paywall.
Is Taste on Android?
Android is coming soon. For now, Taste is on iPhone.
Where does Taste get my tap list?
Straight from PintDeck. Update your tap list once and Taste shows the change too.
What does switching cost?
Nothing at all. Sign up, bring your list in and get your menus set up during your 14 free days.
Do I have to retype my beer list?
No need. Import it from a spreadsheet or your old menu app’s export, and keep your old menus running until you’re ready to switch.
Do I have to cancel my old menu app first?
No. Keep it running until your PintDeck menus are ready, then move your TVs and website over when it suits you.
Can I bring in my brew history?
Yes. Import past brews from a spreadsheet, one batch per row, and each beer’s batch charts fill right in.
Can I bring my Taplist menu over?
Yes. Export your beer list from Taplist as a CSV, then import it into PintDeck.
Will I lose my Untappd page?
No. Your brewery page and check-ins stay on Untappd for free. Only the paid venue menus go away.
Can I keep Square Loyalty?
Yes. PintDeck doesn’t turn it off, so you can run both side by side while you decide.
